Dear Dean,
I am an overseas student from China, majoring in civil engineering. This semester I have to take ten courses, but I find that math is too difficult for me. Therefore I am writing to you to inquire if I can take another course instead of it.
At the beginning of this semester, after getting my math textbook, I was surprised to find that there were many terms and theories that I didn't know. Besides, I can hardly follow what the teacher says in class and don't know how to take notes. All of these really make me frustrated and depressed.
I hope you can kindly take into consideration my request and let me have your reply at your earliest convenience. I would very much appreciate it if you could approve of my request.
