別以為“think about it”是“考慮一下”，會(huì)錯(cuò)意就尷尬了…

很多人都認(rèn)為外國人很直接，

但其實(shí)，

他們也很擅長話里有話，弦外有音

I'll think about it就是其中一個(gè)

表面上說我會(huì)考慮

但其實(shí)它是：

A way of saying 'No' without disappointing the person you're talking to.This phrase is used mostly by parents ,and girls.

這是一種說“不”又不會(huì)讓談話對(duì)象失望的方式。這句話大部分是父母和女孩說的。

例：

A：Hey, I kinda like you, will you go out with me?

嘿，我有點(diǎn)喜歡你，你愿意和我約會(huì)嗎?

B：I'll think about it.

讓我考慮一下(我拒絕)。

A：Dad, Can I get an iPad?

爸爸，我能得到個(gè)iPad嗎?

B：I won't get it for you now ,but I'll think about it.

現(xiàn)在我是不會(huì)給你買的，但我會(huì)考慮的。

You use expressions such as come to think of it, when you mention something that you have suddenly remembered or realized.

當(dāng)你提到某件你突然想起來或者意識(shí)到的事情的時(shí)候，就會(huì)用come to think of it

例：

He was her distant relative, as was everyone else on the island, come to think of it.

我突然意識(shí)到，他是她的遠(yuǎn)親，就像島上的其他人一樣。

Come to think of it, he did mention seeing you.

想起來了，他確實(shí)提到看見過你。

We maligned him dreadfully when you come to think of it.

回頭想想，我們當(dāng)時(shí)很惡毒地中傷了他。

think too much

把事情想得太復(fù)雜， 內(nèi)心戲太多了。

think too much=

英文解釋為to think about something too much, in a way that is not useful 過度思考，想得太多

這種想得太多其實(shí)是過于焦慮的一種表現(xiàn)，

總是愛擔(dān)心這擔(dān)心那。

例：

I overthink everything and worry too much.

我對(duì)每件事都想得太多，擔(dān)心得太多。

我們還需要把overthink和think over區(qū)分一下。Think sth over 意思是仔細(xì)地考慮某事，花時(shí)間和精力謹(jǐn)慎地或慎重地考慮某事。
