A:Happy birthday, Tom. This is for you.

B:Thanks, Mr.Wang.

B:謝謝。王先生。

A:You know, in China, we usually don't open presents until the guests have gone.

A:要知道，在中國我們通常是客人走了后才打開禮物。

B:Really? I've already opened this one. Say! This is swell! look, Mom, a billfold.

B:真的?我已打開了。呀!好漂亮!看，媽媽，多漂亮的皮夾子!

C:lt's very nice. You really shouldn't have done it, though, Mr. Wang.

C:太漂亮了，你實在不必這么破費，王先生。

B:Mr. Wang, it's the custom to bring a birthday gift as you have done. Is it the same in China?

B:王先生，像你這樣帶生日禮物來是一種風(fēng)俗，在中國也是一樣嗎?

A:Yes, it is the same.

A:是的，完全一樣。

C:Well, dinner is ready.Please come to the dining room.( A birthday cake with all the candles lighted on the table)

C:嗯，飯準備好了，請到餐廳去。(桌上放著點亮了蠟燭的生日蛋糕。)

C:Oh, they all went out! Did you make a wish?

C:噢，都熄了!你有沒有許愿?

B:Yes, but I doubt if I get it. I never have yet.

B:許了，但是我懷疑是否能如愿，我從來沒有如愿過。

A:Where did that custom come from?

B:I've no idea.

C:You cut the cake and pass it around while I get the ice cream.
