舌尖上的美國(guó)(30):請(qǐng)客篇(下)

　　今天我們繼續(xù)來(lái)談?wù)撓抡?qǐng)客的話(huà)題。
　　1.It's on me.由我來(lái)請(qǐng)客。
　　this is an important phrase to know. Usually in the west, when two friends go out to dinner,they split the check.通常在美國(guó)朋友出去吃飯都是每人付一半，上期節(jié)目中已經(jīng)說(shuō)過(guò)了，這個(gè)就叫spiltthe check—This means they each pay half or they pay for what they had.But when someonesays it's on me, it means I'm going to pay for you.但是大家要注意，“It's on me.”就是我付所有的錢(qián)。這個(gè)on me就是指我個(gè)人，我個(gè)人來(lái)付所有錢(qián)，on me非常重要。
　　James, let's go to dinner! It's on me.
　　一起去吃飯吧，我請(qǐng)客。
　　Let's go for Chinese food. It's on me.
　　我們?nèi)コ灾袊?guó)菜吧。我請(qǐng)客。
　　Let's dine out this evening. It's on me .
　　今晚我們到外面去吃飯好嗎?。
　　Pay attention：Lunch is on me.午飯我請(qǐng)客。
　　Jenny和好友去餐廳吃午飯，點(diǎn)菜的時(shí)候，朋友說(shuō)：“Lunch is on me.”Jenny心里很納悶：“她既然帶了午飯，為什么還要出來(lái)吃呢?”于是說(shuō)道“Although the food you cooked at home is not delicious. Youshouldn’t waster your money.”如果不清楚Lunch is on me的意思的話(huà)，就會(huì)鬧這樣的笑話(huà)了。
　　Lunch is on me直譯為“午飯?jiān)谖疫@兒“。實(shí)際上這個(gè)句子表示“午飯包在我身上”，即“我請(qǐng)客”。當(dāng)有好事值得慶祝，而且你愿意買(mǎi)單時(shí)，可以用這句話(huà)。類(lèi)似的說(shuō)法有: The dinner is on me.晚飯我請(qǐng)。
