1.肯定式

I used to like pop music.我過去喜歡流行音樂。（現在已經不喜歡了）

We used to spend our vacations in the mountains.

我們從前在山區(qū)度假。（暗示現在已經不在山上度假了）

2.否定式

I used not to like pop music.我過去不喜歡流行音樂。

I usedn’t to like pop music.

I didn’t use to like pop music.

3.疑問式

Used you to like pop music？ 你過去喜歡流行音樂嗎？

Did you use to like pop music？

You used to go there，usedn’t you？ 你過去常到那兒去，是嗎？

you used to go There,didn’t you？

4.used to與would的區(qū)別

（1）used to 與would表示過去習慣性的動作時，可互換。

When we were children we would/used to go skating every winter.

我們小時候，每年冬天都去溜冰。

He would/used to sit there for hours sometimes doing nothing at all.

有時他在那里一坐幾個鐘頭，什么也不做。

（2）若要強調過去與現在的對比時用used to。

I don’t smoke these days，but I used to.我現在不抽煙，但我以前是抽的。

I used to drive to work but now I cycle.過去我常開車上班，但我現在騎自行車。

【比較】

①People used to believe that the earth was flat.

過去，人們以為地球是扁平的。（現在已不再這樣認為）

②He would go to the park as soon as he was free.

過去，他一有空就去公園。（現在有可能還去）

5.used to do，be used to 與be used to do的區(qū)別

（1）used to do 表示“過去常常”，現在已經不那樣了。

He used to be a teacher in our school.他曾經是我們學校的一位老師。

There used to be an old temple near the village.過去村子的附近有一座古廟。

（2）be used to （doing）sth.表示“習慣于做某事”。

He is used to hard work.他習慣于艱苦工作。

He is used to living in the country.他已習慣于住在鄉(xiāng)下。

I’ve got used to being a vegetarian.我已經習慣吃素食。

【提示】 be used to中be可用get，become替換，其中to是介詞，后接名詞、代詞或動名詞。

（3）be used to do表示“被用于做某事”。

Bamboo can be used to make a lot of things.竹子能被用來制成很多東西。

A hammer is used to drive in nails.錘子是用來釘釘子的。
