Jane與Mary約好一起下棋,兩人都曾在學(xué)校獲過(guò)獎(jiǎng),正好棋逢對(duì)手,兩人對(duì)此都很期待。

J: Hi, Mary, are you free this evening?
M:Yes. What for, Jane?
J: Shall we have a game of chess?
M: Can you play chess? I never knew it before.
J: Yes. Are you interested in it?
M: Yes, I am. I learned to play it when I was at high school. Do you like playing chess?
J: Yes. I think playing it in the long run will make you an acute man.
M: I agree with you. Do you play it well?
J: Once I won a prize in my university.
M: So did I. My prize was for the best player in the university.
J: Oh, it will be very exciting for us to meet our match, won't it?
M: Yeah. Let's play chess this evening.
英語(yǔ)筆記
1.it中的/t/在爆破音/b/前失去爆破,/t/不發(fā)音。
2.此處應(yīng)用雙降調(diào)。
3.注意acute/??kju:t/(敏銳的)和cute/?kju:t/(可愛(ài)的)讀音的區(qū)別。
4.“下象棋”,此處chess前不需加定冠詞the。

雙降調(diào)
1.帶有yes和no的簡(jiǎn)略回答要用雙降調(diào),如:
J:Are you interested in it?
你有興趣嗎?
M:Yes↘, I am↘.
是的,有興趣。
2.主語(yǔ)在前、從句在后的句子也可用雙降調(diào),語(yǔ)氣肯定,如:
I learned to play it↘ when I was at high school↘.
我高中的時(shí)候就學(xué)象棋了。
3.對(duì)提問(wèn)把握很大的反意疑問(wèn)句要用雙降調(diào),如:
It will be very exciting for us to meet our match↘, won't it↘?
我們棋逢對(duì)手一定會(huì)很有意思的,不是嗎?
