A：我們來玩?zhèn)€小游戲，怎么樣？我形容一個人的長相你來猜是誰。
A: Let’s play a little game. I’ll describe someone and you try and guess who it is.

B：好的。我現(xiàn)在正無聊呢。
B: OK. I’m really bored at the moment!

A：這個人是瘦高個兒，有一雙藍色的眼睛和一頭棕色的卷發(fā)。
A: OK, This man is tall and slim. He’s got blue eyes and curly brown hair.

B：他有胡須嗎？
B: Does he have moustache or a beard?

A：問得好。他的嘴上有胡須，不過沒有絡(luò)腮胡。
A: Good question. Yes, he has a moustache, but no beard.

B：好像是邁克，對嗎？
B: Sounds like Mike. Is it?

A：對。你來描述一個人，我們倆都知道的。
A: Yes, it is. You describe someone we both know.

B：好吧。她不高，很胖。她長著一頭金色的頭發(fā)，但我不知道她眼睛的顏色。
B: Right. She’s not very tall and she’s quite plump. She’s got blonde hair, but I don’t know what colour her eyes are.

A：她漂亮嗎？我好像不認識這樣一個人。
A: Is she attractive? I don’t think I know anyone like that.

B：啊，我不認為她很漂亮，不過我肯定你不會同意我的看法。
B: Well, I don’t find her attractive, but I’m sure you would disagree.

A：我喜歡苗條的女孩，指所以我懷疑自己會認為一個胖乎乎的女孩迷人。你得告訴我更多的情況。
A: I like slim girls, so I doubt I would find a plump girl attractive. You’ll have to give me some more information.

B：她的腳很小，穿著一雙過時的鞋子。實際上，她的衣服也過時了。
B: She’s got tiny feet and wears really unfashionable shoes. In fact, she wears unfashionable clothes too.

A：聽起來好像我不認識這個人。我放棄了。告訴我她是誰。
A: This doesn’t sound like anyone I know. I give up. Tell me who she is.

B：就是你的媽媽。
B: She’s your mother!

A：真不好意思，我竟然沒有認出我自己的媽媽！你覺得外貌對一個人有多重要？
A: How embarrassing! I don’t even recognise a description of my own mother! How important do you think appearance is?

B：很不幸，一個人的外貌比性格更重要。廣告上說我們的外貌必須要能吸引人。我覺得這種看法是錯誤的，但現(xiàn)在的世界就是這樣。
B: I think that unfortunately it’s more important than a person’s character. Advertising and stuff tells us that we have to be attractive. I think it’s wrong, but that’s the way the world is now.

A：我認為你是對的。我選擇我的女友就是因為她的性格好。
A: I’m afraid you’re right. I chose my girlfriend because she has a wonderful personality.

B：當然，如果光看外貌，你肯定不選她！喂，我是開玩笑的，別打我。
B: Well, you certainly didn’t choose her because of her looks! Hey, I was joking! Don’t hit me!
