錫德尼（Phillip Sidney，1554-1586），伊麗莎白朝的朝臣，在修養(yǎng)、人格和文學(xué)才華方面都可稱(chēng)為人文主義者的代表。曾寫(xiě)過(guò)《為詩(shī)辯護(hù)》，認(rèn)為詩(shī)的創(chuàng)作并不要求客觀的真實(shí)，詩(shī)人可以創(chuàng)造更高的真實(shí)和更美的世界，這一觀點(diǎn)影響了當(dāng)時(shí)與后世的文學(xué)。他最為著名的詩(shī)作十四行組詩(shī)《愛(ài)星者與星》由108首十四行詩(shī)和11首歌組成，描寫(xiě)一青年受美貌女子引誘，愛(ài)上了她，從而經(jīng)歷了內(nèi)心的矛盾。詩(shī)人將痛苦、柔情、欣喜、含蓄融為一體，音樂(lè)的美也得到展現(xiàn)，表現(xiàn)出詩(shī)的完美結(jié)構(gòu)與鮮明的藝術(shù)自律性。

What, may it be that even in heavenly place

Are beauties there as proud as here they be?
