My teenage son was at the rebellious stage when a parent’s endorsement of anything is the kiss of death. So I was pleased he asked me to help him pick a shirt to wear to a party. On his bed were the choices: blue，white and beige.

我那十來歲的兒子正在愛頂牛的年齡，父母說東他偏往西。一次他要去參加一個舞會，請我?guī)退x一件襯衫。這可把我樂壞了。他床上有好幾件襯衫:藍的、白的和米色的。

"I like the blue one."I said.

“我喜歡藍的。”我說。

"What is your second choice?"

“你還喜歡哪件?”

"The white one."

“白的。”

"Thanks，"he said and put on the beige shirt.

“多謝了。”他說著便穿上了那件米色的襯衫。
