英語(yǔ)早間課堂:話說(shuō)地道美語(yǔ) Lesson 24(2)之二

我們先來(lái)看看題目。中文句子是 當(dāng)她知道她的男友在耶誕夜與另一名女子外出時(shí)，真是非常驚訝。She between the when she knew her boyfriend went with another girl Christmas Eve. 英文句子中有5個(gè)空格，需要填寫的單詞依次如下：was，hit，eyes，out，on。該題答案為——She was hit between the eyes when she knew her boyfriend went out with another girl on Christmas Eve. 順利地完成此題掌握以下幾個(gè)要點(diǎn)。

第一、掌握hit sb (right) between the eyes這個(gè)習(xí)慣用語(yǔ)可以使用在被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)中。Hit sb right between the eyes是......令......非常驚訝，......使......茅塞頓開(kāi)，給......留下深刻印象的意思，根據(jù)這個(gè)意思，當(dāng)然是可以使用于被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)中。上句就是這個(gè)習(xí)語(yǔ)運(yùn)用在被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)中。我們?cè)賮?lái)看三個(gè)例子：

Eg. I was hit right between the eyes by your father's death. 你父親的死亡令我大吃一驚。

Eg. The boss isn't hit between the eyes by your work, so you don't get promoted. 你的工作沒(méi)有給老板很深的印象，所以你就得不到晉升了。

第二、掌握go out這個(gè)短語(yǔ)在口語(yǔ)中的意思。Go out在口語(yǔ)中是出去約會(huì)的意思，是指男女間浪漫的戀情的約會(huì)。我們來(lái)看2個(gè)例句熟悉這個(gè)短語(yǔ)的意思：

Eg. I bet she can never go out with John, a flirting man. 我確信她絕不會(huì)和John這個(gè)玩弄女人的人約會(huì)。

Eg. He is very good at chatting up pretty girls and getting them go out with him. 他很善于和靚女搭訕并且能約她們出來(lái)。

注解1：chat up v.調(diào)情 與(異性)搭訕

Eg. The guys always try to chat up the new secretaries. 這些家伙老是想向新來(lái)的秘書調(diào)情。

注解2：get sb do sth 讓某人做某事

Eg. Would you like to get a teacher help with my son's English.你可以請(qǐng)到一位老師來(lái)輔導(dǎo)我兒子的英語(yǔ)嗎?

第三、掌握和eve這個(gè)單詞固定搭配的介詞。意思是(重大節(jié)日的)前夜, 前夕。引申為“重大事件即將發(fā)生的前夕”的意思。不管是哪個(gè)意思，用eve來(lái)表示在......前夕，與之搭配的介詞是on。我們來(lái)看下面的例句：

Eg. It is a pity that he fell ill on the eve of the race, so he had to give it up. 很遺憾他在比賽前夕病了不得不放棄比賽。

Eg. On New Year's Eve, many people gather together to count down for the coming year.在除夕夜，很多人聚在一起為新年倒數(shù)。
