許多雙眼睛都盯著他呢，許多人都對(duì)他的安康感興趣，他的日常活動(dòng)受到人們關(guān)注;

he can not disappear unheeded; his name is in many mouths;

他不會(huì)銷聲匿跡，他的名字在很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間里都掛在人們嘴邊上。

his name is upon many books; he is a man of note—of promissory note; he fills the speculation of many minds;

他的名字出現(xiàn)在許多賬本上，他成了引人注目的人——對(duì)約定的關(guān)注;在許多人心里，他成了猜測(cè)的對(duì)象。

men conjecture about him, wonder about him,—wonder and conjecture whether he will pay.

人們對(duì)他妄加揣測(cè)，對(duì)他頗為好奇——好奇和揣測(cè)他是否會(huì)還債。

He is a man of consequence, for many are running after him.

他是事關(guān)重大的一類人，許多人在追逐他。

You shall ask the baker, and he will tell you there is no such person in the neighborhood.

你要是問(wèn)面包師的話，他會(huì)告訴你說(shuō)他的鄰居里根本就沒(méi)有這樣的人。

People that have his money fast in their pockets, have no thought of his person or appellation.

向他借錢的人很快就把錢揣進(jìn)口袋里，不會(huì)對(duì)他這個(gè)人或正式名號(hào)多想。
