愛(ài)情的花園
I went to the Garden of Love,
我去到愛(ài)情的花園里，
And saw what I never had seen;
看見(jiàn)了我從未見(jiàn)過(guò)的情景：
A Chapel was built in the midst,
在我經(jīng)常玩耍的草地
Where I used to play on the green.
有一座禮拜堂建立在中心
And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
這禮拜堂的大門(mén)緊緊關(guān)閉，
And 'Thou shalt not' writ over the door;
門(mén)上寫(xiě)著，你不準(zhǔn)如何如何；
So I turned to the Garden of Love
于是我轉(zhuǎn)身到愛(ài)情的花園里，
That so many sweet flowers bore.
那里盛開(kāi)著許多可愛(ài)的花朵，
And I saw it was filled with graves,
我卻看見(jiàn)那兒盡是墳?zāi)梗?/p>
And tombstones where flowers should be;
墓碑代替了原有的花朵：
And priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
穿黑袍的牧師還在踱來(lái)踱去，
And binding with briars my joys and desires.
用荊棘捆住了我的欲念和歡樂(lè)。
