27.2　用在句末的標點符號

27.2.1　句號、問號和感嘆號

1) 這三種符號都用在句末——陳述句及祈使句結(jié)束時加句號：

We have made great advances in the last twenty years. 近二十年我們?nèi)〉昧司薮蟮倪M展。

Be careful of what you are doing. 做事要小心。

祈使句如要加強語氣，可以加感嘆號；陳述句如帶有較強的感情色彩也可加感嘆號：

　Look out! You nearly got hit by that bicycle! 小心！你差點被那輛自行車撞了！

2) 疑問句都需加問號：

What's all this about? 這都是怎么回事？

What's that? He refuses to come? 怎么？他不肯來？

You're still waiting here? 你還在這里等？

Any more? 還要一點嗎？

3) 感嘆句后需加感嘆號：

What a lovely baby! 多可愛的小寶寶！

How do you dare say that! 你怎么敢這樣講話！

Thank you so much! 十分感謝！

It's so good of you! 你真好！

27.2.2　引語中的標點符號

1) 在直接引語中，可以用感嘆號和問號：

He said, "What a dreadful idea!" 他說，“多可怕的想法？”

Good! he exclaimed. “好的？”他叫道。

Evacuate the area! ordered the Commander. “撤出這個地區(qū)？”司令員命令說。

I don't know the way. Do you? he asked. “我不知道路，你知道嗎？”他問道。

I'm going shopping. Can I get you something? she said. “我去買東西，我能給你買點什么嗎？”她說道。

2) 如引用詞在前，也可用句號：

He said, "If she leaves the house, follow her." 他說，“如果她離開這房子，就跟著她？”

如引用詞在后，則不能用句號，而需用逗號：

I advise cancelling the meeting, he said.“我建議取消這次會議？”他說。

Let's sell the house, said Tom. “咱們把房子賣掉吧？”湯姆說。

Please don't drink too much! Remember that you'll have to drive home, she said. “別喝太多酒！記住你還得開車回家？”她說。
