“洗衣服”不是 wash clothes！地道英語表達(dá)學(xué)起來~

洗衣服≠wash clothes

洗是wash，洗衣服是wash clothes嗎?

才不是呢!

用“wash”來表達(dá)“洗”，偏向于中式思維。

在英語中，雖然“wash” 的意思是“洗滌，沖洗”，但沒有那么具體化，不能確定“在哪洗”或“洗什么”。

“laundry” 指“洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物”。

比如《老友記》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美劇中，可以看到劇中人物帶著大量的衣物到洗衣店里清洗，這種公用洗衣房就是“laundry”。

“do the laundry” 才是英語中“洗衣服”的地道表達(dá)方式。

當(dāng)然有時在英式英語中，也用“do the washing”表達(dá)“洗衣服”。

例句：

It's a good day to do the laundry.

今天是個洗衣服的好天氣。

情景對話

A: This sucks! The washing machine is broken! What's wrong with it? Oh, and we don't have any laundry detergent either.

A: 糟糕!洗衣機壞了!這怎么回事?哦，洗衣液也沒了。
